A life long dedication to the position of goaltending has brought together friends in the pursuit of excellence.  Steve, was an all WCHA selection while playing at the University of Minnesota and played as a professional for 5 years.  He has over 10 years coaching experience and is currently the assistant coach at St. Olaf College.  Clint played 3 years of Junior hockey and has been a proffesional goalie coach and assistant coach for the past 6 years.  Clint has over 10 years experience coaching goalies and is currently the assitant coach to the Russell Stover Midget Program as well as the goaltending consultant to the Des Moines Buccaneers in the USHL.
At First Star Goaltending there are no secrets, no magic formulas, just pure dedication to the position.  When you watch the NHL, the goaltenders are all different.  Some have similar styles, but no two goaltenders are the same.  With different mental make-ups and physical attributes, each goaltender must play from within him or herself.  At First Star there is ONE philosophy - stop the puck.  With specific drills and excercises, goaltenders will learn a base from which all moves, not just one move, may be utilized to stop the puck.  Goaltenders must be able to skate, shoot, pass, and play in many different situations in a game.  The requirement of the position, along with the pressure to win, makes goaltending the toughest position in sport.
